Hat Creek Ranch
Due to its colourful and sometimes violent past, it seems numerous ghosts inhabit this building and the land surrounding it. During renovations in the 1980’s, many construction workers and their families became witnesses to many paranormal events. Slamming of doors, footsteps, and voices have been heard on occasions where the source could not be identified. Mysterious sounds have also been heard coming from a storage shed where a Chinese cook hung himself in the latter days of the gold rush. A piece of the rope he used to do the job still swings from the rafters. Apparitions of a little girl, and also of an old woman knitting have been sighted, and objects moving in the bar and going missing for reasons unknown have also been experienced at the ranch.
Pavilion General Store
Over 130 years old, the store is reputed to be haunted by former owner, Mrs. Hayes who ran the store over 50 years ago. She brings no harm to the present owners, however, she occasionally makes herself known by knocking things over, and her footsteps are sometimes heard. The building has since burned down.
