The Mountain Area Volunteer Lawyer Program (MAVL) requires volunteer lawyers to contribute at least 50 hours pro bono per year.
MAVL selects the types of cases to be accepted and conducts initial interviews so that the lawyer can review the proposed referral before determining whether it will be accepted. All clients referred through MAVL are pre-screened for financial eligibility and case priority. 1.
